出发前查询当天水位、天气、风力和开放信息，结伴并预留天黑前返程时间。不要开车下滩，不带儿童或行动不便者跨越未铺装水边，也不要把低水位当作接近湖心的捷径。
远距离观察随水线移动的鹭鸟
从高处先用双筒镜扫描水线，再用单筒望远镜观察嘴形、腿长、体型和取食动作。逆光或距离太远时保留为“鹭科未定”；群体频繁抬头、停止取食或飞离说明观察距离不够。
不围堵水线、不投喂、不放无人机，也不追逐因水位变化集中到小水面上的鸟。公开照片删除定位信息，只标注鄱阳湖或县域级范围；水情和生态都在变化，保护优先于近照。
Both 11.29 metres and 41% have a timestamp
At 08:00 on September 22, the Xingzi gauge read 11.29 metres, below the 12-metre low-water mark. The river-connected water area had shrunk to 41% of its annual maximum and levels were expected to keep falling. These are time-specific conditions, not live figures for later days.
Low water exposes flats and shifts feeding birds to new edges. The source says only 'herons' and gives no species or count, so this page invents neither a species list nor coordinates for the exposed ground.
A flat that looks dry may still be unsafe
Recently exposed mud can crust on top while remaining soft below, and channels, ditches or changing water can trap walkers. Grassland may also be under conservation or farming management. Watch only from public embankments, boardwalks and formal viewpoints.
Check same-day water level, weather, wind and access, travel with others and return before dark. Never drive onto a flat, take children or less-mobile visitors across an unpaved shore, or treat low water as a shortcut toward the lake centre.
Watching herons as the waterline moves
Scan from higher ground with binoculars, then use a scope for bill shape, leg length, size and feeding action. Retain 'unidentified heron' in backlight or at excessive distance. Repeated head-raising, interrupted feeding or flight away means you are too close.
Do not crowd the waterline, feed birds, fly a drone or pursue birds on small remaining pools. Strip coordinates from public photographs and use only lake- or county-level labels. Hydrology and ecology are moving targets; protection matters more than a close image.
